Man Made

John 8:28 states:

“Then Jesus said to them, ‘When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.’”

Something about this really sticks out to me.

Jesus called Himself “the Son of Man,” and then immediately continued by identifying His Father. As an artist, that connection really stayed with me. It made me think about creation, where we come from, and the relationship between the one who makes and the thing that is made.

In that sense, we too are sons and daughters of Man.

None of us are Jesus. None of us are the Great I Am. But we can still acknowledge everything that came before us—the people, the stories, the hands, the love, the sacrifice, and ultimately the One who brought us here.

That thought became part of the reason we chose our name.

Blessed be the Lord—the Man who made us.
